And we’re worried about the Taliban?

September 6, 2006

One of the most popular blogs today, and I suppose I’m helping it stay popular.

May women teach men at church?

There are some good counterpoints in there but I will leave them where they are so I don’t misquote them. I’m a Christian (very handy when you live in the heartland) but I’m the kind that believes in common sense. I’m not the kind that tells people they are going to hell. Okay, I do but for fun, not out of a theological obligation. If you want to get right down to it I’m the kind of Christian that thinks the way you treat other people is important. And how you act is more important than what you say. And whether you have wiggly bits or jiggly bits does not enter at all into that equation.  And that’s about all I can say without going on a long rant about abortion clinic bombers and other terrorists nutjobs. I’m so tired of these ultra-right-wing goofballs getting all the press. We are not all like that!

God gave you a brain with the hope that you would use it. (And he gave it to you through a long evolutionary process using the laws of physics and nature, but that’s getting off-topic.)
